if you're not tracking RPM or some other trigger, then all you're doing is looking for a rich/lean mixture (min/max) while in a certain condition (IE WFO), timing really won't matter. If you datalong in order to actually tune the engine across the RPM band, then you need to know what this delay time amounts to so you correct the right values in the maps.
